Gracie's: Reviews & Ratings
My partner and I made reservations at Gracie's to celebrate our 7th anniversary. I left a couple small comments in the box just asking for a quiet booth. When we arrived, an incredibly polite valet named Andrew spoke with us and took the car off our hands. We walked inside, and our hostess, Ash, immediately took us to a beautiful and secluded table that had its own wooden benches and walls separating us from the general dining room. On the table were adorable little stars in the form of glitter, a gorgeous flower in a vase, and a very sweet card wishing us a happy anniversary. Sarah was our waitress and paid attention to every detail of our meal. She checked multiple times on our allergies, worked with the kitchen to customize the tasting menu, and was entirely on top of the service. To cap off the night, Ash organized us to have a complimentary Creme Brulee which is my all time favorite dessert. Even with that caveat, this was easily among the best creme brulees I've ever had. It was chock-full of fresh vanilla beans straight from the pod and had a delicate but crunchy surface. The entire team made the night so special and we enjoyed every single moment. Neither my partner nor I could stop gushing for the rest of the night about our experience. I highly recommend Gracie's for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion in Providence.
I love it here. Such a fantastic experience. Even at the bar, they give you their full attention. The bartender, Carolina, knew so much about our wines and how they paired with our dishes. She had all of the information about the wines we asked memorized as well as the plates they go well with. Fantastic attitude that just puts you in a good mood to be near them. The food is amazing but the gnocchi was definitely my favorite. A really stand out dish that I highly recommend trying when you’re here. I don’t even typically like gnocchi or mushrooms like that but I kept going back for more. Beautiful atmosphere and plenty of staff so you’re never ignored, even when it is busy before a PPAC show (or Trinity repertoire ; which is directly across the street and can be seen from the windows) I just love when a place really puts a good amount of detail in their plates and makes their staff happy enough that they stay working here for a long time. Definitely worth a trip, even though it is pricey - you will leave full and happy
Outstanding experience! We celebrated my father’s 84th birthday and they made it super special. Table had celebration stars, a hand written birthday wish and a toast provided to everyone at the table. We chose the 5 course chef’s tasting. They were very cognizant of any allergies or dislikes of food options before putting together an amazing meal. Another plus, we had a 12 passenger van and they valeted it for us! Definitely worth exploring if you enjoy chef tasting menus.
Gracie's is a fine dining restuarant that features seasonal menus with a la carte or chef-tasting options. Inside is elegant and quaint. It did get a tad loud by the end of our dinner, but nothing crazy. The food was incredible. What a fabulous 7 course tasting menu! From fish to gnocchi to foie gras to cheese, everything was truly special. Service was top notch. shout out to Nicole, our waitress, who did in amazing job explaining all the wines and varietals of the wine pairing. And Elijah also did great, and it was his first day!
We went for my wife's BDay! The service was excellent and they accommodated food restrictions- allergies and vegetarian. The roasted beet salad was excellent, whiskey sour was delicious. The dessert (opera cake) was a bit underwhelmimg on both portion size and flavors
Rating 4.5/5 Gracie’s is absolutely worth the visit. My brother and SIL have been here before so I already knew dinner was going to be exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The host and our server were genuinely pleasant, attentive. The food was excellent across the board. - Tuna crudo was fresh and well balanced 8.5/10 - Russet potato gnocchi was so comforting and flavorful 9.5/10 - Point Judith sea scallops 9/10 - The wagyu steak was good but not my favorite dish of the evening 7.5/10 - S’mores mousse was an amazing dessert to end the evening 10/10 To top it off, the espresso martini was made exactly how I like it, strong with just the right amount of creaminess. Overall, Gracie’s delivers an elevated dining experience with excellent service and memorable dishes. I would definitely come back again!
I enjoyed most of the 5 course chef's tasting menu, except for a few disappointments. The bread choices were exciting ( a focaccia style slice accompanied with what I thought would be a NE version of a pao de queijo), sadly both fell flat when they were served cold, not room temp, but fridge cold along with a nice cranberry compound butter, which would have been amazing had it come with just a sprinkle of finishing salt. I’m not a fan of a crudo used as anything other than an amuse bouche, as it requires the least amount of technique or effort to make. Consequently, I was underwhelmed in the first course, by yet another beautifully cut, yet under-seasoned, cut of fish served atop some boring acidic base with pretty garnishes. It's as predictable and boring as parsley garnishes were in the 1980's. In another course, the pillowy hand-made gnocchi were executed beautifully, however, they were hard to enjoy after the acerbic, hickory-smoked bacon garnish kicked in nd left a final bitter note to each bite. I personally prefer a fruit wood for smoked pork products, but to each their own. There was far too much micro kale, and too many micro greens on the fish dish, which also lacked salt. The fourth course, the wagyu dish, was perfection on a plate, expertly seared with classic mushroom and red wine flavors. Sadly, the dessert was as uninspired as the crudo, I was served an anemic, rubbery pana cotta topped with a tasteless passion fruit gelee combo, it lacked texture, flavor and inspiration. A note on the cocktails - The beverages were 100% knockouts. I appreciated the perfectly chilled yet appropriately briny 'dirty' martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives and the rich espresso notes in the Carajillo. A few rough spots but this place is on the right track!
This is my second time here and both times I did the chefs tasting menu. Every dish left a lasting impression, and the cadence was perfect. The foie gras was one of the best I ever had! I highly recommend the wine pairing as it truly compliments each dish, and the sommelier provides great service while being very knowledgeable. I will absolutely be back anytime I'm in the area.
